Bitter des Basques is France’s oldest bitter, crafted from around 20 botanicals, including Espelette pepper. Its recipe originates from Maison Archambeaud Frères, a renowned Bordeaux distillery founded in 1820. The original formulas, preserved in a small black notebook by Paul Archambeaud, were recently passed to his grandson Renaud de Barry, inspiring this unique, all-natural bitter.
