Château Bellevue, Princesse Lieven, AOC Beaujolais

Burgundy from Beaujolais – A great white wine made from 100% Chardonnay, with the contribution of some of the region’s best winemakers. Chateau Bellevue was also once owned by the Lumière brothers, who famously invented the art of cinema. The estate owns some 15 hectares of fields, which make up a varied mosaic of soils, landscapes and minerals. The grapes come from 1.3 hectares of vineyards, at an altitude of 435 meters above sea level, which ensures better freshness. The soil is a mixture of clay-limestone and also ‘golden rocks’ (Cretaceous limestone), estimated to be 172 million years old!
