Price per litre:
The Gran Reserva 7 year old is matured in natural conditions in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua, for seven years in barrels which formerly held bourbon. This gentle aging process brings out the rum’s caramel, vanilla, and oak flavours. Using traditional methods largely unchanged in over 100 years, Flor de Caña have established themselves as rum industry heroes thanks to their use of the highest quality sugar cane and their care and attention to the distilling process.

Flor de Caña, Spanish for “sugarcane flower,” is the only mass-produced rum line from the Central American country of Nicaragua. Distillation is done in a three-column still, before aging in ex-bourbon, white oak barrels stored in a thermally insulated warehouse to reduce the angel’s share. A close look at the bottle reveals a raised outline of a sugar cane stalk.
