Henschke 2021 Henry’s Seven Shiraz Grenache Viognier blend is a tribute to Henry Evans, who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853. The wine is sourced from growers in the Eden and Barossa valleys with whom the Henschke’s having been working with over many decades. The wine tends towards classic Barossa Valley with deep, rich, old viney fruit, loaded with spice, such as vanilla, clove, and white pepper. Not one of Henschke’s most powerful wines, but is hugely satisfying.

Henschke’s heritage dates back to the 1860s as the proprietors of some of the country’s oldest Shiraz vines, and has been revered for many decades for its single-vineyard wines, the most famous of all being Hill of Grace – a legendary wine which starts the pulses racing of wine lovers and collectors across the world. The winery is now under the stewardship of its sixth generation of the Henschke family, and since 1868 when the first wine under the Henschke name was produced, they have never been anywhere but at the top tier of Australian wines.
