Negroamaro is an ancient variety of grape mostly associated with the Puglia region of Southern Italy. The grape variety has been grown there for over 1500 years! But the grapes for this wine come from the Barossa Valley in Australia, a perfectly suitable climate for this hot-weather-loving sort!
Negroamaro grapes are dark as night, the name even translating to ,,the blackest of black.” The wine itself is bewitchingly crimson in hue. The palate is bright and fruity, with notes of plum, red cherry, tobacco leaves on the foreground. Well-balanced and smooth, with soft tannins. This Hesketh Regional Selections Negroamaro is bottled in 2021.
