Highland Park Wings of the Eagle 16y was crafted to celebrate the wild, windswept islands of Orkney. With stormy waters, long winters, and a landscape where few trees survive, these harsh conditions contribute to a uniquely harmonious whisky.
The Orkney winds, which can exceed 100 miles per hour in winter, shape the island’s treeless moorland peat, rich in fragrant heather. When burned, this peat imparts the distinctive aromatic smokiness that defines the whisky. In this expression, that smokiness is combined with maturation in carefully selected sherry-seasoned European oak casks, creating remarkable depth and complexity.
It offers harmonized notes of sweet figs, apricots, nutmeg, chocolate-coated marzipan, and aromatic heather-rich peat smoke. Highland Park Wings of the Eagle 16y is a bold, uncompromising single malt with a wild yet balanced character.

Highland Park was founded by Magnus “Mansie” Eunson, a church beadle and part-time whisky smuggler, who received his first distilling license in 1798. Over 200 years later, the distillery continues to follow his example—crafting whisky by its own rules, honoring lost traditions, and celebrating the subtly smoky flavour of Orkney heathered peat.
