Makaridze Cuvée 09 Red 2023 is a natural red wine from Georgia. Made with 60% Tsitska and 40% Otskhanuri Sapere grapes, aged for 6 months in qvevri. A qvevri is an amphora-like vessel which has been used to ferment wine in Georgia for thousands of years.
Produced using traditional Georgian methods, Makaridze wines are certified by the Natural Wine Association. Their vineyards, located in Western Imereti near the Kvrila River, thrive in a humid subtropical climate—ideal for expressive, balanced natural wines.

The Makaridze family has been rooted in winemaking for generations in Terjola, a village in Imereti known for its bright, textured wines with vibrant acidity. Originally growing and selling vine cuttings, they began commercial production five generations ago. Today, Gogita and his wife Keto continue the legacy, dry-farming indigenous grapes and crafting wines that reflect the soul of Imereti.
