Smiths and williams tonic water
Price per litre:
Mid-19th century. India. Malaria is rampant everywhere. Mornings start rough for British colonial soldiers. The disease-preventing, but disgustingly bitter, hinininaps must be introduced. Two clever fellows find a way to turn an unpleasant routine into an enjoyable ritual. They dilute the remedy with water, lime and sugar to make a delicious and refreshing drink. History does not remember who these inventive gentlemen were exactly. But in naming the Britons Smith and Williams, we can hardly go far wrong. A thousand thanks to you, gentlemen, for giving the world this wonderful drink. The tonic Smith & Williams is dedicated to you!
