Clos des Lunes, Lune d’Argent 2019, AOC Bordeaux blanc, Sauternes sec

Clos des Lunes started a bit of a revolution in the world-famous Sauternes dessert wine region – they’re right at the heart of the sweet elixir making area, but the Bernard family decided to make a white dry wine there instead. The reason was simple: sweet Sauternes wines are less and less appealing to consumers. So, to bring back the region, and in particular the excellent soil, this great wine was created! The grapes are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, and the blend of grape varieties is also unusual for a dry wine – 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon blanc! Clos des Lunes has also undergone some ageing, which gives the wine body. It is a complex, multi-leveled and above all very interesting wine!
